Klimt painted the elegant "Hope II" in 1908, during what art historians refer to as his "Golden Period". His model, Herma, was heavily pregnant, and he depicts her almost like a greek icon or goddess, wrapped in rich robes and covered in shimmering patterns and jewels. The elegant geometric pattern on Herma's robe is the inspiration for our "Hope II" RainCaper design. The painting currently hangs in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
